H2R architects was established in Taipei and Tokyo in 2010 by three partners: Hideki Hirahara, Hiromasa Shirai, and Ronghao Chang, who have been involved in top-class architectural and urban planning projects worldwide. Before starting their firm, they played significant roles in many projects that received numerous prestigious awards in America, Europe, and Asia. H2R proposes innovative architectural and urban designs with a clear understanding of both local culture and global experience. H2R architects has extensive experience in residential,hotel and office projects, and currently, Taiwanese architect Yinglan Wang has joined as a partner alongside the two Japanese partners. Master's degree in Architecture from Columbia University. From 2002 to 2010, worked as a Senior Associate at Steven Holl Architects in the New York and Beijing offices, contributing to numerous award-winning international architectural projects. Leveraging the global perspective gained from architectural design experiences in Japan, the United States, China, and Taiwan, currently based in Taiwan, focusing on residential、hotel, office-related design activities. Served as a visiting professor at Tamkang University (2010-2024) and an assistant professor at National Chiao Tung University (2012) in Taiwan, proposing better housing and lifestyles for the future through deep understanding of local living conditions via housing research in the Asia region.

Graduated from Waseda University Graduate School and completed the doctoral program at the London School of Economics and Political Science. Holds a Ph.D. in Urban Sociology. After working with Kajima Design, OMA (Netherlands), and the London Olympic Park Master Plan team, co-founded H2R architects in 2010. Since 2015, has been a faculty member at Shiga Prefectural University, engaging in practical research on architectural and urban spaces that utilize regional resources. Also continues research on "Olympic cities," a topic explored in their doctoral thesis. Based in Tokyo, they have designed numerous projects in Japan and Taiwan, including residential, hotel, and exhibition spaces.

Holds a Master’s degree in Architecture from Kyoto Institute of Technology. While attending Kyoto University, gained internship experience at Sei Takeyama's Office and later worked at Da-Ju Architects & Associates. Contributed to projects such as the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park BOT project (commercial facilities, offices, and hotels), office buildings, and residential complexes, led by Japanese architects Toyo Ito and Riken Yamamoto in Taiwan. After joining H2R architects in 2014, has been deeply involved in numerous projects, focusing on residential, hotel and office design in both Japan and Taiwan, as well as handling architectural applications in Taiwan. Continues to strive for the creation of better housing and living environments in Taiwan.
